EBBA Awards

The winners of the 2012 European Border Breakers Awards (EBBA AWARDS) received their awards in a ceremony during the opening of Eurosonic Noorderslag in Groningen (NL), on Wednesday the 11th of January 2012.

The ceremony and additional footage from all winners of 2012 will be broadcast on multiple EBU television stations throughout Europe. This year’s Awards also include the exciting category the 'Public Choice EBBA', successfully introduced in 2010. The Public Choice EBBA 2012 was won by Selah Sue. 

The EBBA AWARDS are given to debut artists or groups for their success in crossing national borders and reaching audiences outside their own country. This is the ninth edition of this successful European Union award, with which the European Commission – in close partnership with the European music industry and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) – highlights the creative richness and diversity of European contemporary music.
